Essential Preparation Tips for a Festival Bus Trip

Travelling to a festival with a group of friends can be a difficult thing to organise. When people are in a partying mood, they're not always great at things like being on time or turning up where they're supposed to, which leads to delays and possibly even friends who temporarily go missing. The best way to keep everyone together and get where you're going on time is to hire a bus.

Once you've got your bus booked with a party bus hire company, it's time to start looking forward to an exciting day—or several days—of music and fun. Before you get too carried away, though, make sure you follow these preparation tips so everything goes smoothly.

Confirm your booking schedule

A few days before you're set to leave, call the bus hire company to confirm your booking. Make sure you're both on the same page with dates, times and places, and don't forget your return trip. It's also a good idea to check that everyone in your group knows when the bus is booked for.

Give everyone written details

It might make things sound too formal, but there's nothing wrong with writing out or printing the times of your bus bookings alongside other important information. Everyone can keep a copy on them so there's less chance of someone missing the bus. This is especially important for the return journey, in case someone gets separated from the rest of the group.

Find out about the festival's alcohol policy

One of the benefits of hiring a bus is that everyone can have a drink on the way. Before you fill the vehicle with booze for the entire festival, though, find out if you're allowed to take your own drinks in. If you are, it can save you money compared to buying booze inside, but if not, you'll end up having to throw some away.

Stock the bus

On top of a suitable amount of alcoholic drinks, you might want some snacks on the way. If it's a long journey, make sure nobody is going to be hungry. Other comfort items like blankets and water are a good idea, too, and some appropriate music to set the right mood is always essential. Make a playlist on an MP3 player and use the sound system on the bus.

Do a last-minute friend check

The night before, call everyone and make sure they know when and where they need to be and that there aren't any unforeseen problems. And make sure everyone has their tickets and other essentials safely packed and ready to go.
