Team Trask to Sit-Out Hobart Round of F1 Superboat Series.

The Brisbane based F1 race team, Trask Development Corporation/Sea Quest, headed by Bob Trask has been forced to sit out the Hobart round of the Australian Superboat F1 series.

“We’re victims of the logistics of trying to race in Hobart one weekend and then the opening round of the UIM F1 World Series the following weekend in Qatar,” team owner and lead driver Bob Trask said.

“While we have already shipped our two boat international race team with F1 GTR Race Boats, complete compliment of race engines and a full array of spares, the logistics of getting drivers and crew from Hobart to Qatar in time for boat set up and practice by Wednesday is just impossible.”

“We’re exceptionally disappointed to miss the Hobart round as this has been such a great event for us in the past,” said Bob Trask.

Currently Bob Trask is placed fourth in the Australian F1 Superboat series while brother and team driver David Trask heads the point score table after two rounds.

“As a race team we are preparing a two boat team for both the Australian and UIM F1 World series.  It’s a huge logistical and financial commitment to be

running two boats in two series, but its something that we are very much committed to.

Unfortunately this round presents us with a logistical problem so we have no alternative but to run the opening round of the UIM F1 World series.

“We have two new F1 hulls from our own GTR Race Boats factory for the international F1 series and we start the new 2006 series in Qatar full of confidence.  We expect to do well overseas in 2006”

Bob Trask has already confirmed that the TDC/Sea Quest will be back fully prepared for the fourth round of the Australian F1 Superboat series to be contested on Newcastle Harbour on June 11th 2006.
